We welcome visitors to the distillery for a behind-the scenes-experience where you can discover the principles of our approach to distilling and follow our production processes which make our craft spirits so special.
You’ll get the opportunity to really see what goes into our spirits, everything is very visible and it’s a perfect environment to truly understand grain to glass craft distilling.
You’ll be shown how we make our vodka, gin, absinthe and rye whisky following every step of the journey from grain to bottle. This close you’ll gain a real appreciation of the extra mile we go to make TOAD a true craft distillery. We will finish with an opportunity to ask questions and taste a selection of our spirits.
Hosted by one of our three founders this tour gives a unique insight into our journey from conception all the way to bottle! We will spend time on how we source our ingredients and the work that goes into making our vodka, gin, absinthe and rye whiskey. After this in-depth tour, we will host an extended tasting session, taking you through all our different spirits and finishing with a large gin and tonic.
You can book your tour online now, or if you prefer call 01865 767918 to speak to a member of staff. At present our group numbers are around 16 people per tour, but we are a flexible sort, so please contact us with any special requests.

Behind the gates of our purpose-built distillery, inside the historic Old Depot of Oxford’s South Park, we harness the power of curiosity to drive our pursuit of perfection. We are purveyors of the extraordinary; refiners and redefiners of the precise doctrine of distillation.
Our beautiful riveted copper stills were built in conjunction with Paul Pridham, England’s last great steam engine boiler-maker. Taking inspiration from Jules Verne, we designed our 2,200 litre central still, Nautilus, as well as its 500-litre partner, Nemo – allowing us all the flexibility we need to experiment and refine.
Situated in Oxford’s South park, the distillery is a pleasant 30 minute walk from Oxford city centre, great views of the city do come with a price so prepare for some uphill walking! If you are arriving by train to Oxford a taxi will take you about 10 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Take any of the 4 buses (4, 4A, 4B, 4C) towards Wood Farm and get off at the Warneford Hospital stop. From there, TOAD is just a short 300 metres walk away.
Alternatively, any bus to Oxford Brooke’s University will serve you well. We are a five-minute walk away from the campus.
We have a small amount of parking space which is available at an additional cost (restricted mobility free of charge) but you do need to reserve. If you are coming from out of town we recommend using the Thornhill Park & Ride, get off the Oxford Brooke’s University stop.
