Steam Boiler Specialist, South Devon Railway
Paul joined his father’s steam traction engine restoring and building business, RK Pridham Engineering, in 1996. The pair worked together near Tavistock in West Devon and, with the purchase of a 700 tones hydraulic press, became the leading suppliers of boiler components for steam heritage railways across the UK. Seminal projects included the restoration of the boiler of the Flying Scotsman and manufacturing components for the replica of Stevenson’s Rocket.
Keen whiskey lover Paul and his 18-strong team were thrilled to be involved in the design and manufacture of TOAD’s handcrafted copper stills “Nautalis” and “Nemo”. “We had never built anything of this nature before, but I can honestly say every single one of us enjoyed the challenge. It truly was a Labour of love and one we’d jump at doing again.”
